14 people died in road accidents across the country


14 people have died in road accidents in different parts of the country. Among them, eight in Mymensingh, one in Tangail, one in Munshiganj, one in Kurigram, two in Chittagong and one in Gaibandha.

Mymensingh

Eight people including three members of the same family were killed in a separate road accident in Mymensingh. These accidents happened in Sadar, Trishal and Tarakanda upazilas.

Kotwali Model Police Station OC (Investigation) Anwar Hossain said that three passengers of an auto-rickshaw (Mahendra) of the same family were killed when a Tangail-bound bus hit the Mymensingh-Tangail highway in Langrabazar area. Another child was injured in the incident.

The deceased are Lutfar Rahman (30), his wife Shahnaz (25) and son Mahit (2). Meanwhile, Mahit and the child's parents died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on the spot.

The deceased are residents of Dighirpar area of ​​Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur. Husband and wife used to work in a garment in Masterbari area of ​​Baluka. They were returning home on Eid vacation.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Trishal police station Kamal Hossain said that two passengers of an autorickshaw standing on Balipara Road in Trishal were hit by a bus in the afternoon.

“Furthermore, two passengers of the pickup were killed by a Mymensingh-bound bus while taking a U-turn on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Darirampur area of ​​the same upazila.” – he added.

On the other hand, one person died in an accident on Dhobaura road in Tarakanda upazila, police said. The names of the victims were not immediately available.

Tangail

A woman was killed after being hit by a pickup in Tangail's Madhupur. His child was injured. The accident happened in the afternoon at a place called Golabari in the upazila. The name of the deceased woman is Chahera (35). His injured son's name is Swaib (6).

According to local sources, Chahera was coming to her husband's house from Dhanbari by auto-rickshaw with her son. On the way, a pickup coming from the opposite direction hits the autorickshaw. The mother and son were seriously injured.

Locals rescued them and took them to Madhupur Upazila Health Complex, and the doctor on duty quickly referred them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. The injured girl died on the way to the hospital.

Madhupur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mollah Azizur Rahman said that the police went to the spot after receiving the information. The pickup was seized from there and brought to the police station. I have not yet received any written complaint in this incident. The body has been sent to Tangail General Hospital for post-mortem.

Munshiganj

Md lost control of motorcycle in Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway. A man named Roni (35) has died. Md. was injured. Another one named Alamgir (50). The accident took place on the road towards Mawa in Sholghar Battala area of ​​the upazila around 6 am.

Deceased Roni is the son of Abul Hossain of Kadir Khola village of Rampal upazila of Bagerhat. The injured Alamgir is the son of Abdul Gani Sheikh of the same area.

Kanchan Kumar Singh, in-charge of Hansara Highway police station, said that the body of the road accident victim has been handed over to the relatives.

Kurigram

A motorcyclist named Abdur Rahim (30) died in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a trolley in Bhurungamari, Kurigram. Another person was injured in this incident.

The accident took place near the road cut market on the Bhurungamari-Kurigram road at noon. Abdur Rahim is the son of Mancher Ali of Rabaitari village of Fulbari upazila.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Bhurungamari police station Ruhul Amin said that legal measures are under process in this incident.

Chittagong

Two people were killed when a bus hit the back of a truck in Chittagong's Sitakunda. 6 more people were injured in this incident.

The accident took place at Chowdhuryghata area of ​​the highway around 5 pm. The deceased are – bus driver. Noor Nabi Shimul and Busyatri Gautam Bhowmik.

Sitakunda Bar Aulia Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khokon Chandra Ghosh said that a passenger bus leaving from Comilla hit the back of the Chittagong-bound truck. The bus driver and a passenger were killed on the spot. The injured have been rescued and taken to hospital.

A disabled woman named Roshan Ara Begum (27) died after being crushed by the wheels of a truck in Gobindganj, Gaibandha. The accident happened in Jahanara market area of ​​upazila city at noon.

The deceased Roshan Ara Begum is the daughter of Apu Mia of Chaikgharia village in Rakhalburuj union of upazila.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Gobindganj Highway Police Station Mahbur Rahman said that a disabled woman was killed while crossing the road. The family of the deceased has been informed. The police arrested the driver of the truck in this incident.
