17 Indian sailors aboard Israeli ship seized by Iran NDTV Online reported the information citing sources on Saturday.
Iran's revolutionary forces seized an Israeli ship during a search operation in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday. The ship named 'MSC Aries' belongs to the London-based Zodiac Group. Zodiac Group is owned by Israeli tycoon Yaal Offer. The ship left Dubai for Mumbai, India on Friday.
A source told NDTV, 'We have learned that Iran has taken control of the cargo ship MSC Ares. We learned that 17 Indian nationals were on board the ship. We are in touch with the Iranian authorities in Tehran and Delhi through diplomatic channels to ensure the speedy release of the Indian nationals.'
MSC, the ship's operator, said: 'There are 25 crew on board and we are working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure their well-being and the safe return of the ship.'
