17 Transfer of Additional Secretary

After the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government in the face of the student uprising, there is a massive reshuffle in the administration including the Ministry of Public Administration. As a result of this, 17 additional secretaries have been transferred this time.

This order was issued in a notification of the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday. It is said that this order issued in public interest will be effective immediately.

The transferred officials are Local Government Department, Secondary and Higher Education Department, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Electricity Department, Information and Communication Technology Department, Ministry of Public Administration, Public Security Department, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Liberation War Affairs. Ministry, Ministry of Culture Affairs, Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Social Welfare and Public Security Department have been posted.

All these officers have been asked to be released from their current workplace and join the transferred workplace by Monday. If no one joins, they will be deemed to be immediately released (stand release) from their current workplace from Monday afternoon, the notification said.

Earlier on Sunday (August 25), 131 BCS officials of various batches who were deprived due to political reasons during the Sheikh Hasina government were promoted from joint secretary to additional secretary. The officer promoted to the post of Additional Secretary has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

Many of the promoted officers were deprived during the last Awami League government. Officials promoted to the post of Additional Secretary will be promoted with effect from the date they are superseded by junior officers and they will get arrears, the notification said.

Hundreds of officials have been deprived of promotion in the last 16 years of the Awami regime only for political reasons. Deprived as 'Negative' is mentioned against their names in the Intelligence Investigation Report.
