2 people kidnapped again in Teknaf


It has been alleged that two people, including a village doctor, have been kidnapped in Teknaf of Cox's Bazar. The incident took place on Sunday (April 21) around 9:00 pm on the hill slope of the Hoikang-Baharchhara road of the upazila.

One of the two kidnap victims has been named. He is village doctor Mohammad Zahir Uddin Arman (40). House Ukhiyar Thaingkhali. The other person's name was not immediately known.

Regarding the auto rickshaw driver, Zahir Uddin's brother Kamar Uddin Mukul said, 'Zahir Uddin was going home in an auto rickshaw due to an emergency. On the way, the armed men stopped the auto-rickshaw at the Huaikong hill and kidnapped another passenger along with Vaike.'

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Teknaf police station Mohammad Osman Gani said, 'The police are working to rescue the two kidnapped victims. The kidnappers will be brought to book soon.'

It is to be noted that recently, news of kidnapping of farmers while driving cows in Teknaf Hills of Cox's Bazar has come in the media.
