The first consignment of rice imported from India is scheduled to arrive at Chittagong port on Thursday (December 26) at 5:30 am. 24 thousand 690 tons of rice is expected to arrive in the first shipment.
This information was informed in a circular signed by Imdad Islam, senior information officer and public relations officer of the Ministry of Food, on Wednesday (December 25) at noon.
According to the notification, the vessel MV Tanais Dream will reach Chittagong port at 5.30 am tomorrow with 24 thousand 690 tons of boiled rice imported from India under the contract of open tender. This is the first consignment of rice imported from India under the current interim government. This is the first shipment of parboiled rice imported from India under Agreement No. 381 dated 11 November 2024.
It has also been informed that after collecting the samples of rice stored in the ship and after the physical examination, the work of releasing the rice will be started soon. All necessary measures have already been taken for this.
