2582 nomination papers were filed in the parliamentary elections

A total of 2,582 nomination papers have been submitted from various parties and independents in the thirteenth national parliament election.

Monday (December 29) when the time for submitting nomination papers is over, the information sent by the returning officers at the field level has been consolidated, said Director of Public Relations of the Election Commission. Ruhul Amin Mallick.

He said that a total of 3 thousand 407 nomination papers were collected by the candidates. Among them, 2 thousand 582 nomination papers have been submitted.

As per the schedule, nomination papers will be selected from 30 December to 4 January 2026. January 5 to January 9 for filing appeals against the decision of the Returning Officer. The appeal will be settled between January 10 and 18. Last date for withdrawal of candidature is January 20. The Returning Officer will release the final candidate list and allot the symbols on January 21. The election campaign will begin on January 22. The campaign can be run until 7:30 am on February 10. And the vote will be taken on February 12.
