3 people sentenced to death in Faridpur murder case


The court sentenced three to death and three to life imprisonment for the murder of Alauddin alias Antar (14) of Nagarkanda, Faridpur.

On Wednesday (March 27) around 12 noon Faridpur Women and Children Torture Suppression Tribunal Judge Md. Hafizur Rahman gave this verdict.

The convicts sentenced to death are Mahabub Alam, Kamal Matubbar and Khokon Matubbar. Besides, the accused who got life imprisonment are Ashraf Sheikh, Azizul Sheikh and Sujan Matubbar.

Except Azizul Sheikh, the remaining five accused were present in the court when the verdict was announced. Later they were sent to jail under police guard.

State counsel (PP) Swapan Kumar Pal of the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal said that the plaintiffs got a fair trial. As a result of this verdict, the crime tendency in the society will be reduced and the rule of law will be smooth in the country.

It is to be noted that on June 7, 2018, Alauddin alias Antar, a 8th grade school student of Char Manikadi (Pagalpara) area of ​​Talma Union of Nagarkanda Upazila of Faridpur, was killed and buried after being kidnapped. Later, when this incident became known, it was discussed throughout the country.
