3 traders arrested with foreign liquor in Sherpur

RAB-14 arrested three drug dealers along with 37 bottles of foreign liquor in Sherpur's Jhenaigati. They were arrested in a raid in front of the Jhenaigati Upazila Health Complex at midnight on Monday (September 2).

The arrested traders are the son of Mofazzal Hossain of Dhakabar village of Jhenaigati upazila. Farooq Ahmed (32), son of Zainal Abedin of Nayagaon village. Sakil Mia (28), and A. of Jhenaigati. Majid's son. Shahinur Islam (28).

According to RAB, on the basis of confidential information, a raiding team of RAB conducted a raid in front of Jhenaigati Upazila Health Complex in Sherpur on the midnight of September 2 and arrested drug dealer Farooq Ahmed, Md. Sakil Mia and Md. Shahinur Islam was arrested with 37 bottles of foreign liquor.

The arrested drug dealers said during the initial interrogation that they had been buying and selling and supplying various brands of banned Indian liquor from the Indian border areas for a long time.

RAB-14, CPC-1, Jamalpur camp company captain Major Md. Abdur Razzak said that a case under the Narcotics Act has been filed against the arrested and handed over to the Jhenaigati police station.
