4 people died in 2 days due to rain and flood in Comilla

Four people died in two days due to continuous rains and floods in Comilla. Among them, three died on Wednesday (August 21), one died on Monday (August 19). Two of them were electrocuted, one fell on his head and one drowned.

A person named Keramat Ali (45) died after drowning in flood water in Nangalkot of the district on Wednesday (August 21) night. He is a resident of Daudpur area of ​​the municipality. Keramat Ali fell under a local bridge while fishing on Wednesday midnight. When he disappeared in the strong current, the locals started searching for him. After some time, his body was found near the spot. Later he was rescued and taken to the hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

Nangalkot Upazila Health Officer Devdas Deb said that Keramat Ali was brought to the hospital around 12 midnight. When the doctor on duty declared him dead, the family members took his body away. I learned that he slipped while fishing and was unable to get up due to the current.

A teenager named Rafi (15) died after being electrocuted by an electric pillar in the rain on Wednesday afternoon. He is a resident of Chotara area of ​​the city. Doctor Yobair Hossain of Comilla General Hospital confirmed his death.

An expatriate named Shahadat Hossain (34) died after a tree fell on his head while fishing in flood waters in Chouddagram. The incident took place in Sonakatia (Adarsh ​​village) Purbapara area of ​​Chauddagram municipality on Wednesday (August 21) morning. He is the son of Kanu Mia of Sonakatia village of the upazila.

Earlier, a lawyer named Sohrab Hossain Sohag died. On Monday afternoon, the lawyer was electrocuted at Salauddin intersection in Comilla city. After leaving his pregnant wife at a diagnostic center, he got entangled in an electrical wire lying in rainwater. He died on the spot.
