41 Indians killed in bus accident in Nepal

An Indian bus lost control and fell into a river in Tanhun district of Nepal. So far 41 dead bodies have been recovered from that Indian bus. Girish Mahajan, Minister of the Indian state government of Maharashtra, confirmed this information in a press conference in Mumbai on Friday.

According to NDTV and Anandabazar reports, the bus was carrying passengers from Uttar Pradesh to Nepal. The bus was going to Kathmandu from Pokhara at the time of the incident. On the way, the bus fell into the Marshiangri river in Tanhun district. However, it is not yet known how the bus met with the accident.

Local residents saw the bus lying in the river and informed the authorities and tried to rescue it themselves. But most of the passengers were found dead.

Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan said that there were 43 passengers in that bus. But the exact figures of how many people were residents of Maharashtra are still not available to them. The state government has contacted Delhi, Nepal administration and Indian embassy. The Center said the body will be brought back to India by an Air Force helicopter. After confirming the identity, the body will be handed over to the relatives.

He also said that the deceased had gone to Nepal. There was a resort in Pokhara city. They were going to Kathmandu from there. The bus had Uttar Pradesh number plates. India wants to know the cause of the accident. Talked with Nepal administration. They are investigating the cause of the accident.

In this regard, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also said that he had spoken to Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the bus accident in Nepal. Work is underway to bring the body back to the country as soon as possible.
