The Public Service Commission (PSC) has postponed the 46th BCS compulsory and post-related written test for 'unavoidable reasons'.
This information was informed in a press release signed by PSC Controller of Examination Anand Kumar Biswas on Sunday (August 25). The examination was supposed to be held from next Wednesday till September 9. This written exam will be held in different centers of Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh. Examination Hall, Seat Arrangement and other instructions will be published on PSC website in due course. The notification also informed that the next date and schedule of the examination will be informed in due course.
Earlier, the results of the 46th BCS preliminary examination were released on May 9 this year. 10 thousand 638 people passed this exam, who can participate in the written exam. PSC issued notification of 46th BCS on November 30 last year to appoint 3 thousand 140 people in government jobs.
10 thousand 638 candidates have cleared the 46th BCS preliminary examination. These candidates will participate in the written test. Through this BCS, 489 people in general cadre, 2 thousand 74 people in professional or technical cadre (1 thousand 682 assistant surgeons, 16 assistant dental surgeons, 65 assistant engineers) and 520 people in general education and 57 people in technical education will get employment in government jobs.
