Following the game, 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and Jaguars head coach Liam Cohen had to be separated. There was only a small portion of the incident caught on camera before the telecast went to commercial, but things appeared to have been very heated.

NFL insider Ari Meirov was able to provide the video that showcased players and personnel from both teams holding back Saleh and Cohen.

The heated argument is likely due to comments made by Saleh ahead of the game.

Earlier in the week, Saleh claimed that Cohen was using a legal form of “sign stealing.”

“Liam and his staff, a couple guys coming from Minnesota, they’ve got a — legally — a really advanced signal-stealing-type system where they always find a way to put themselves in an advantageous situation,” Saleh said. “They do a great job of it. They formation you to just try to find any nugget they can. So we’ve got to be great with our signals and we’ve gotta be great with our communication to combat some of the tells that we might give on the field.”

The comments are a huge accusation, and Cohen responded before the game as well.

“I’m not gonna speak on that fully right now,” Cohen told reporters. “We have a huge game for us coming up, we’ve got a great defense that we’ve got to go and attack and that’s where our whole mindset and mentality is right now. … Again, we’re really trying to focus on a darn good defense.”

Clearly, the comments made by Saleh were not appreciated by Cohen, but there is no telling who approached whom following the game. Whatever happened, both parties appeared not to be happy with the other one.

Though the Jaguars walked away from the game victorious, the perceived issues between Saleh and Cohen have not been dealt with, and probably won’t be for some time.
