56 out of 76 weapons have been deposited in Rangpur

Arms deposit deadline will end at 12 pm across the country. At this time, 56 firearms have been deposited in the office of the Deputy Commissioner till the evening of the last day of submission of legal weapons in Rangpur. The joint forces will descend from Wednesday to recover the weapons that have not been deposited. There will be members of various forces including Army, BGB, Police, RAB in the joint operation.

Acting Deputy Commissioner Mocha confirmed the matter on Tuesday (3 September) at 7 pm. Shahnaz Begum.

According to the district administration sources, the number of weapons used by civilians and various organizations in Rangpur was 164. This includes 76 weapons at the individual level. The rest are in various institutions. Of the 76 weapons held at the individual level, 56 weapons (various weapons including pistols) have been deposited till Tuesday (September 3) evening. There are still 20 weapons in possession of various individuals.

It is known that from January 6, 2009 to August 5, firearms licenses issued to civilians have been suspended. Those who have been issued licenses at that time have been asked to submit the firearms along with ammunition to the concerned police station by September 3.

Meanwhile, as announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, after the last day of submission of arms and ammunition, a joint operation to recover illegal weapons will begin. Many have welcomed the news of the start of operations to arrest illegal weapons holders.

Acting Deputy Commissioner of Rangpur Mocha: Shahnaz Begum said that 56 weapons have been deposited till Tuesday evening. There is a deadline to submit these weapons till 12 midnight. Many of them may surrender their weapons. An operation will be conducted to recover the remaining weapons that have not been deposited from Wednesday.
