In this intense heat, there have been reports of death of 6 people due to heat stroke across the country including the capital Dhaka. Among them, one person died in Dhaka, two in Chittagong, one each in Pabna, Chuadanga and Gazipur.
Dhaka: It is reported that an old man died of heat stroke in Fakirapool area of the capital on Saturday afternoon. Initially, his identity was not known.
Motijheel police recovered the body from Fakirapool traffic signal around 5:15 pm. Later, they were sent to Dhaka Medical College Mortuary for post-mortem. Sub-Inspector (SI) of Motijheel Police Station, Abu Zafar, told reporters that the death could be due to heatstroke as well as disease.
Chittagong : Chittagong people are laughing in the scorching heat. Two people, including a child, have already died of heatstroke in Chittagong. Due to the intense heat, the movement of people and vehicles has reduced in different parts of the city.

The name of the deceased is Saleh Ahmad Shah (70). Saleh Ahmed's house is in North Paruapara area of Raipur Union of Chittagong's Anwara Upazila.
Saleh Ahmad's son Nazrul Islam said that his father suddenly fell ill on Friday evening. He was then taken to Anwara Holy Health Hospital. The doctor on duty declared him dead there.
Saiful Islam Shamim, director of Anwara Holy Health, said that Saleh Ahmed died before reaching the hospital. He died of heat stroke.
Meanwhile, a six-month-old girl named Safa died in Boalkhali Upazila of the same district. The incident took place in the new house of Anzirmartek Syed Alam in West Shakpura Ward No. 2 of the upazila on Friday afternoon. His father's name is Md. Nizam Uddin
The deceased's father Nizam Uddin said that Safa fell asleep after drinking her mother's breast milk in the morning. At that time there was no electricity in the house. After taking the girl in her arms at seven in the morning, when her body felt cold, she was quickly taken to the Upazila Health Complex, where Deputy Assistant Community Medical Officer of the Emergency Department Dr. Sabrina Akhtar declared her dead. The family believes he died of heat stroke due to lack of electricity.
Gazipur: A mentally unstable young man died of heat stroke on Jelkhana Road, Konabari, Gazipur City Corporation. KM Ashraf Uddin, officer-in-charge of Konabari police station, said that his body was recovered on Saturday (April 20) afternoon and sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
Sohail Rana is the son of Abdur Razzak of Enayetpur area of Gazipur City Corporation. On receiving the information, the police went to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue.

At that time, the people around rescued him and took him to Pabna General Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Sukumar Das is a resident of Zakir Mor, Shalgariya in the city.
