71 people including children lost their lives in the flood


The death toll, including children, has risen to 71 due to severe floods in 11 districts of the south-eastern region of the country caused by continuous rains and torrential rains from India. Among them 45 men, 7 women and 19 children.

This information was given in a press conference at the secretariat on Tuesday (September 3) at noon. Adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, freedom fighter Farooq-e-Azam was present at the time.

It was informed in the press conference that 71 people died in the flood. Among them 45 men, 7 women and 19 children.

Among the dead, 19 in Comilla, 28 in Feni, 6 in Chittagong, 1 in Khagrachari, 1 in Noakhali, 1 in Brahmanbaria, 1 in Laxmipur, 3 in Cox's Bazar and 1 in Moulvibazar. Number of missing persons 1 person (Moulvibazar).

68 upazilas of Feni, Comilla, Chittagong, Noakhali, Cox's Bazar, Khagrachari, Brahmanbaria, Laxmipur, Moulvibazar, Habiganj and Sylhet have been flooded.

Still 6 lakh 5 thousand 767 families are water tight. The number of affected people is more than 51 lakh 8 thousand. 3 thousand 615 shelters have been opened for the shelter of affected people. More than 3 lakh 6 thousand people have been sheltered in these.
