8 Bangladeshis killed in terrible road accident in Oman



8 Bangladeshi expatriates lost their lives in a terrible road accident in Oman. The local administration has confirmed that 7 of the deceased are residents of Sarikait Union of Sandwip Upazila in Chittagong.

The accident happened on Wednesday (October 8) around 3:30 pm local time in Dukum Sidra area of ​​the country. A total of 10 people died in the clash, out of which 8 were reportedly Bangladeshis.

Sandwip Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Mongchingnu Marma told the media that all the victims were fishing in the sea. On their way back from work, they met with an accident. There were a total of 11 passengers in the car, 10 of whom died on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Amin Saudagar, Arju, Rocky, Bablu, Shahabuddin, Jewel, Roni and Rauzaner Alauddin.

Eyewitness Sajib Chowdhury said, “They all lived in the same area. They were returning from fishing like every day. But when a fish transport vehicle came and rammed their private car about an hour away from home, they died on the spot. Many were badly mangled.”

The bodies of the deceased are currently kept at Dukum Hospital in Oman.
