A field day was held for the development of mushroom cultivation in the hills


Rangamati District Agriculture Extension Directorate conducted a field day with 200 farmers of 10 upazilas of Rangamati district with the aim of improving nutrition and reducing poverty through the expansion of mushroom cultivation in hills.

This field day and mushroom training was held at Asambasti Horticulture Center in Rangamati city on Tuesday (28) morning.

At this time director of Rangamati District Agricultural Extension Directorate. Moniruzzaman, Deputy Director Shashya Apru Marma, Rangamati Banrupa Horticulture Deputy Director Kazi Shafiqul Islam, Rangamati Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Abu Md. Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers of the district along with Moniruzzaman were present.

Agricultural speakers at the field day said that it is possible to fill the lack of nutrients by cultivating mushrooms in the mountains. There is a huge potential for mushroom cultivation in this area. It is possible to reduce poverty in this area by cultivating mushrooms. To make mushroom cultivation more profitable in the hills, the Agricultural Extension Office is providing quality seed production as well as training to the farmers. That is why the agriculturists advised the farmers to keep in touch with the agriculture department.
