A hand grenade was caught in the net of the Naf River in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. On Sunday (September 8) morning, this grenade came up in the net of a local fisherman, Omar Farooq, in the Naf river at Sabrang in Teknaf. The matter was confirmed by Teknaf Battalion 2 BGB captain Lt. Colonel Mohiuddin Ahmed.
He said a local fisherman found a polythene-wrapped bag in his net while fishing in Naf river. Opening the bag revealed a fresh hand grenade with priming. The grenade has been sent to Ramu cantonment for destruction.
Fisherman Farooq said, in the morning I went fishing with nets. Suddenly I found a polythene wrapped bag in my net. At first I thought it was expensive. Later, when it was shown to local people, they identified it as a bomb. Later I handed over to BGB.
