Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced to increase the price of gold in the country's market again.
According to the new price, the price of 22 carat gold will increase to Tk 1 lakh 24 thousand 501. This price is the highest in the history of the country.
The new prices will be effective from Wednesday (August 21).
As of Tuesday (August 20), 22 carat gold bars were being sold at Tk 1,22,985. That is, the amount increased by 1 thousand 516 taka.
Masudur Rahman, Chairman of Bajus Price Determination and Monitoring Committee, said in a press release that the new price has been fixed due to the increase in the price of acid gold.
At the new price, the price of 22 carat gold is Tk 1 lakh 24 thousand 501, 21 carat is Tk 1 lakh 18 thousand 832, 18 carat is Tk 1 lakh 1 thousand 861 and traditional gold is Tk 84 thousand 214.
However, the price of silver has been kept unchanged despite the rise in gold prices. Currently, the price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 60 taka, 18 carat is 1 thousand 715 taka and the traditional method of silver is 1 thousand 283 taka.
