A permit is required to go to St. Martin

Many plans have been adopted to protect the environment of Saint Martin Island. In addition to limiting tourists, no tourist can go to St. Martin without registration or permission, said the director general of the Department of Environment. Abdul Hamid.

He said these things in the president's speech at the consultation seminar on stopping the use of single use plastic in Saint Martin Island at a hotel in Cox's Bazar city on Thursday. The seminar was organized by the Department of Environment in collaboration with UNIDO.

Director General of the Department of Environment Dr. Abdul Hamid said that there will be no concessions regarding cutting mountains and filling water reservoirs. Zero tolerance has been declared for this by our ministry. We are working on the pollution of the country's rivers. The Department of Environment has already taken several steps to keep the rivers free from pollution.

He also said, 'St. Martini will limit tourists and work will be done to protect the environment as well as improve the quality of life of the people there. Work will be started very soon to make Cox's Bazar city plastic free.'

At this time, he requested everyone's cooperation to keep the sea plastic-free.

In the seminar, representatives of non-governmental development organizations, media workers, teachers, environmentalists, student representatives, coordinators of anti-discrimination student movement, coast guard officers, tourist police and other professions participated.
