A student was killed when the building collapsed while he was in class

A school student named Saiful Islam Sagar (12) was killed when the seventh floor lintel (part of the building) of an under-construction building collapsed while he was attending school in Comilla. The accident took place at Noor Ideal School in Noagaon Choumuhani area of ​​Sadar Dakshin Upazila on Monday.

The deceased is the son of Oli Hossain of Sagar Shaktala village. He was a fifth class student. The victim's family, classmates and teachers rushed to the hospital after hearing about the accident. At that time they demanded the arrest of the building owner.

According to police and local sources, it was raining since morning due to Cyclone Remal. While classes were going on, suddenly a lintel of the seventh floor building under construction on the east side of the school broke and fell on the school's tin shed. Meanwhile, the school's tin plate broke and fell on the student's head, seriously injuring him. He was rescued and taken to Comilla Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.

The head teacher of the school. Ashiqur Rahman said, such a big building is being constructed, but there was no security system underneath. One of our students had to die prematurely.

Sagar's father said, Sagar is bigger between my two sons. In the morning he leaves home for school in the rain. I lost my son due to the negligence of the building owner. There were many dreams about the boy. What do I live with now?

Confirming the matter, Sadar Dakshin Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Khademul Bahar said, we have visited the spot after receiving the information. There was no security under the building under construction. Maybe such an accident could have been avoided. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
