A tourist died after falling from a jet ski at Cox's Bazar beach. The incident took place near Sea-Gal Point on the beach around 12 noon on Monday.

Sifat Ullah Sifat, in charge of Sea Safe Lifeguard, a private security company working on the beach, confirmed this information to The Daily Star.

He said that the jet ski driver could not save the fallen tourist despite many efforts. Later, two lifeguards went and rescued him and sent him to the hospital, where the doctor on duty declared the tourist dead.

Deceased Mohammad Al Mamun was a resident of Wazirpur in Barisal. He went to Cox's Bazar with his family last Friday.

Tauhidul Islam, an employee of the beach, told Daily Star that wearing a life jacket during the jet-ski ride was mandatory, but he did not take it.

Last Sunday and October 13, two locals including a child drowned in the sea while bathing in the sea at Cox's Bazar beach.
