ACC case against the Vice -Chancellor Kalimullah

The Anti -Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against five people, including two former Vice -Chancellors of Begum Rokeya University (Berobi), on various charges, including money laundering, advance bill to the contractor.

ACC Director General Akhter Hossain confirmed the matter to the media on Wednesday (June 5th).

The accused are former Vice-Chancellor and Project Director AKM Noor-Un-Nabi, former Vice-Chancellor Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, former executive engineer Jahangir Alam, contractor Abdus Salam Bachchu and contractor MM Habibur Rahman.

ACC Director General Akhter Hossain said, β€œBegum Rokeya University Development Project ignored the approved DPP of the Begum Rokeya University Development Project, without the approval of the Ministry or Department of Rs. That is, the university and the government embraced Tk 5 crore as the guarantor, the contractor had no advance payment of the contract with the contractor, but the bank guarantee the bank guarantee by the reason for financial support and the bank guarantees the first consulting company, the first consultant to be given by the advance bill. There are allegations not to complete the tender evaluation in accordance with the provisions of PPR-20 despite the provision, submission of price at an abnormal rate or front loading. ”

He said, β€œThese are punishable offenses under Section 3 (2) of the Anti -Corruption Act, 1 (2) and Penal Code.”
