The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to investigate the corruption of 41 people including the influential ministers-state ministers, MPs of the Awami League government.
This decision was taken in the meeting of the commission on Monday (August 19).
According to ACC, among the former ministers are Tipu Munshi, Nasrul Hamid Bipu, Sadhan Chandra Majumder, Anisul Haque, Dr. Dipu Moni, Dr. Enamur Rahman, Zahid Malek, Tajul Islam, Junaid Ahmed Palak, Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel, Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Faridul Haque, Golam Dastgir Gazi, Imran Ahmad, Zakir Hossain, Kamal Ahmed Mazumder, Zahid Ahsan Russell, Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Shahjahan Khan. , Hasan Mahmud, Kamrul Islam, Hasanul Haque Inu and Mohibur Rahman.
Besides, former MPs include- Benazir Ahmed (Dhaka-20), Sarwar Jahan (Kushtia-1), Shariful Islam Jinnah (Bogra-2), Shahidul Islam Bakul (Nator-1), Sheikh Afil Uddin (Jesore-1), Chalim Uddin Tarafdar (Naogaon-3), Kazi Nabil Ahmed (Jashore-3), Enamul Haque (Rajshahi-4), Mamunur Rashid Kiran (Noakhali 3), Kujendra Lal Tripura (Khagrachari), Meher Afroz Chumki (Gazipur-5), Kazim Uddin Ahmed (Mymensingh-11), Swapan Bhattacharya (Jesore-5), A.S.M. Feroz (Patuakhali-2), Noore Alam Chowdhury (Madaripur-1), Abu Said Al Mahmud Swapan (Jaipurhat-2), Sheikh Helal Uddin (Bagerhat-1), Ziaul Rahman (Chapainawabganj-2).
Barrister M Sarwar Hossain, a Supreme Court lawyer, appealed to the ACC chairman on Sunday for an inquiry with their list and wealth growth statistics.
According to the statistics, in the last 15 years, the income of some of the ministers-MPs has increased, some have immovable and immovable assets. In this case, the wealth has increased from a minimum of 100 times to thousands of times.
