Actions against non-submission of asset account by government employees

Formation of a committee of five members

Md Mokhles Ur Rahman, senior secretary of the public administration ministry warned the government employees that action will be taken against those who do not submit the asset account.

The senior secretary said these things while talking to the journalists of his office at the secretariat on Monday (September 2).

The Public Administration Secretary said that a five-member committee has been formed to prepare a simple form to account for the assets of all government employees, and determine the time and method of submission.

He said, we will definitely tell what will happen if the account of assets is not submitted, what will be the penalty, how action will be taken against him. If negativity is not spoken, positivity will not come. Even if it is not submitted, why should I submit it? If you don't submit, there is news, it's simple. There is legitimate news. I will tell you what the news is when I send the letter (form).

He said, within the next seven days, the committee will recommend how to account for the assets of government employees (immovable and immovable). Forms will be delivered to all government offices in the country within the next 7 days. All together within 15 days the process of submitting the asset account will start.

All government employees have been directed to submit asset declaration. Earlier only officials were spoken about. But many class IV employees who do not pay income tax are also found to have many illegal assets.

Public Administration Secretary said, there are 15 lakh employees in the country. 400 crores and 900 crores or so huge assets are available to class IV employees.

It is known that in 1979, the provision of submission of asset account of government employees every five years was introduced. It was added to the 'Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1979' to ensure accountability.

It is said there that the government employees have to submit the asset account to their office every year. However, in 2002, the rules were amended and instead of one year, the provision of submitting accounts of employees was introduced every five years. But for four decades this rule could not be fully observed. The interim government has been shaken on this issue. The Ministry of Public Administration has ordered to submit the asset account.
