Afghanistan makes it mandatory for women to cover their faces, men to keep beards – Bangladesh Diplomat

This Article 35 law was officially implemented last Wednesday. The Ministry of Law and Justice of Afghanistan said that the new law was made in accordance with the directives of Supreme Leader Hibatullah Akhundzada in 2022 and Sharia law. It will function effectively as the Ministry of Ethics and Ethics.

“According to this law, the Ministry of Ethics and Morality will promote the good and prevent the bad according to Islamic Sharia,” Barakatullah Rasooli, spokesman for the country's Law and Justice Ministry, said in a statement.

According to the law, women must wear a burqa and cover their faces, men must shave their beards, and no one can skip prayers or fast.

Anyone breaking the law will be advised, warned, verbally threatened, property confiscated, jailed for three to four days and required punishment.

If someone does not make amends through these punishments then they will be sent to the court for further action.

The Ministry of Ethics and Ethics of Afghanistan has been trying to enforce these rules. Thousands of people have already been detained as part of this. It is not clear whether strict measures will be taken against those arrested through the new law.

Afghanistan's new rulers, the Taliban, have said they will respect women's rights in accordance with Sharia law and local customs.
