After 13 hours of waiting, the police took the case of murder of journalist Priya

After waiting for 13 hours at the police station, the police registered a case regarding the murder of journalist Tahir Zaman Priya during the anti-discrimination student movement.

The police registered the case at 12:30 pm on Tuesday (August 20).

Priya's sister Tasfia Alam confirmed this information and said that my mother, I and a few others went to the Newmarket police station on Tuesday at 11 o'clock to file a case of murder. The case was not being registered as the name of the police officer was in the list of accused.

As the police did not register the case, Priya's family and friends took a stand in front of the police station holding placards.

However, it was informed by the police that there was a delay due to the absence of an investigation officer at the police station.

Priya's mother Samsi Ara Zaman filed the case under sections 302, 114 and 109 of the Penal Code at the Newmarket police station as the plaintiff. Case number-3.
