AI welcome in Bangladesh, but some steps needed to curb abuse: PM


Bangladesh welcomes artificial intelligence (AI) but will take some safeguards to prevent its misuse, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said. The head of government said this while meeting Archbishop Kevin S. Randall, Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See in Bangladesh at Ganabhaban on Sunday (May 12).

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister's speech writer. Nazrul Islam briefed the journalists. In the meeting, Sheikh Hasina said, “We welcome AI, but we need to take some safeguards through legislation to prevent its misuse.”

The Prime Minister said that Bangladesh is a country of religious harmony. Here Muslims, Hindus, Christians and Buddhists live peacefully. We all celebrate our festivals together.

Sheikh Hasina invited the Pope to visit Bangladesh through Archbishop Kevin S. Randall. Archbishop Randall praised Bangladesh's stance and actions on climate change and the Rohingya issue. Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office Mohammad Salahuddin was present in the meeting.
