All development partners need to come on one platform: Environment Minister


Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury said that all development partners should come on one platform to prevent the division of resources on issues related to climate change and sustainable development. To maximize utilization of resources, duplication and overlapping need to be minimized. With the numerous challenges and existential threats posed by climate change, resource protection is essential for financial and capacity building.

The Environment Minister said this while addressing the chief guest at the Country Environmental Analysis 2023: Building Back a Greener Bangladesh Building Workshop organized at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dhaka on Thursday (March 28).

The Environment Minister said the country's health is paramount and the government is committed to improving air and water quality. Priority interventions for climate action are being sequenced, and governments are actively developing a time-bound plan.

He said necessary policy adjustments will be made to meet the emerging needs. Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury emphasized the importance of sustainable practices and outlined initiatives aimed at building a greener future for Bangladesh.

Abdulaye Sek, Country Director of the World Bank appointed in Bangladesh and Additional Secretary (Environment) of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. Fahmida Khanam was present at this time.

Key findings of the Country Environmental Analysis-2023 report were presented and discussed at the workshop, focusing on challenges and opportunities in advancing environmental conservation efforts.
