All the holidays of postal department are canceled in the flood affected areas

In the flood-affected areas in the northeastern part of the country, the leave of the officers and employees of all offices and organizations under the purview of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications has been cancelled.

The matter was confirmed by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology on Thursday (August 22) afternoon.

The Department of Posts informed that in the current flood situation, the leave of the officials and employees of the Department of Posts and Telecommunications in the respective areas has been canceled in order to maintain constant communication with the people of Feni, Comilla and other regions and to repair the damaged towers.

Apart from this, Department of Posts and Telecommunication has taken various steps to ensure uninterrupted and quality telecommunication network in flood affected Feni, Comilla and other areas.

The steps are- Control rooms have been opened in Post and Telecommunication and its subordinate offices. The overall situation of the flood affected areas is being monitored continuously. The list of officers in charge of the control room has been uploaded on the website.

Also, an emergency response team has been formed from BTRC, BTCL and Teletalk.
