Allegation of Shamim Osman's shooting death, 430 including accused Ivy

A case has been filed against former minister Obaidul Quader, former MP Shamim Osman, former mayor of City Corporation Selina Hayat Ivy in connection with the shooting death of Minarul Islam in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj during the anti-discrimination student movement.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Siddhirganj Police Station Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the case on Wednesday (September 4) morning.

Earlier on Tuesday (September 3) night, the victim's brother Nazmul Haque filed the case as the plaintiff. In the case, 130 named people and 300 unknown people were made defendants.

After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government on August 5, dozens of cases have been filed against Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Junaid Ahmed Palak, along with Shamim Osman and their followers in all police stations of Narayanganj. But none of them had Ivy's name on them. This is the first case against Ivy.

In the case, Nazrul Islam Babu, Golam Dastgir Gazi, Qaiser Hasanat, Ajmeri Osman, Ayan Osman, Metropolitan Awami League President Anwar Hossain, Councilor Moti, Noor Uddin Mia, Shahjalal Badal, Shah Nizam, Ivir Bhai Shabar Jubo League General Secretary Ali Reza Ujjal, Advocate Sweety Yasmin, Councilor Enayet Hossain, expelled BNP leader Ataur Rahman Mukul and 130 named persons and 200/300 unidentified persons have been accused.

It has been alleged in the case that under the orders of one accused Obaidul Quader, the Awami League, Jubo League, Chhatra League, Volunteer League and terrorists from all over the country gave orders to resist the student movement, 300/400 terrorists led by the accused No. 2 to 5 carried guns, shotguns, pistols, swords, rams Armed with modern domestic and foreign weapons including chapatis, they tried to resist the students.

At one point, the accused kept firing their firearms while moving forward to detonate a cocktail bomb in front of the Al Amin Nagar Power House on Adamji Road.

At that time my brother Minarul Islam was a garment worker. He came in front of Mujib Fashion at approximately 6 o'clock in the evening of last July 20, when in front of the incident accused No. 2 Shamim Osman fired at my brother with the firearm in his hand and the bullet hit my brother below the left kidney. When my brother immediately fell to the ground, he was with him. Saidul Islam, Kawsar and Dalim Molla took him to Khanpur Hospital in an auto. Then the doctor on duty declared him dead.
