Allegations of attack on chairman candidate's car

In Comilla's Nangalkot upazila, the first round of polling was scheduled, but the election was postponed due to a petition filed by a candidate in the High Court.

According to the latest decision of the High Court and the Election Commission, the polling will be held in Nangalkot Upazila on Wednesday (June 5) in the 4th phase.

In the meantime, on Tuesday around 11:15 pm, the candidate himself complained of attacking and shooting at the car of a candidate named Bappa Sohag, who was participating in the vice chairman election in that upazila with palki symbols.

In the Upazila Parishad elections, the vice chairman candidate of Comilla's Nangalkot, Palki Prateik, accused the candidate himself of attacking and shooting at Bappa Sohag's car.

The incident took place in front of the candidate's house in Mogra village on Tuesday (June 4) night.

On Wednesday (June 5) morning, the OC of Langalkot police station Debashish Chowdhury confirmed the matter.

In the 4th phase of the 6th Upazila Parishad elections, the polling of 3 Upazila Parishads of Comilla will be held today. This includes Nangalkot upazila.

Bappa Sohag, the victim of the attack, said that the workers of Upazila Parishad election chairman Abu Yusuf Bhuiyan (pineapple symbol) suddenly attacked him. At this time they say, why did you stand in the election?

Sohag also said that the workers of Anaras Prateek fired about 10 rounds and vandalized the private car I was using. If I resisted, he beat me and seriously injured me.

Chairman candidate Abu Yusuf Bhuiyan was called several times on the mobile phone regarding the complaint, but his statement could not be taken as he was busy.

Nangalkot Police Station OC Debashish Chowdhury said, I have come to know about the attack. Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation back to normal. The investigation is going on and the culprits will be brought under the law.
