Chicago Sky rookie sensation Angel Reese has officially broken a single-season record for the WNBA. She now sits alone as the holder for the most rebounds in a single season.

For a rookie to set this mark shows how impressive Reese has been this season. Her ability to track rebounds is unlike anything we have seen in the WNBA in a long time and deserves to be celebrated.

She passed former WNBA center Sylvia Fowles for the record. Ironically, Flowles also played for the Sky early in his career before she joined the Minnesota Lynx.

The record was broken against the Lynx as well, rounding everything back together.

Reese has taken the WNBA by storm this season and has been a rebounding machine since the season started. Her efforts on the boards have now helped set the single-season record and her numbers will continue to climb.

The former LSU Tiger has been one of the best stories in the WNBA this season and her game has translated well to the league. She helped LSU win their first-ever NCAA Women’s Basketball title and was a star in college.

Entering the WNBA, some believed that her game wouldn’t work but she has quieted all doubters. While the Sky haven’t had a great season as a whole, Reese has been a bright spot.

She recently announced that she would be starting a podcast to connect with fans as she continues her career.

“I like to look at the big picture and think long term about my business,” Reese added of her approach to building out her brand. “My main focus right now is my team and doing everything I can to help us win on the court. Off the court, I have a lot of long-term career aspirations, and one of them includes broadcasting! So I like to think of Unapologetically Angel as the perfect platform where I can share my thoughts, have fun with my guests, and start to hone my craft with interviewing too.”

Reese made history this season by making the All-Star team with fellow rookie point guard Caitlin Clark. The Sky forward is currently in the running for the Rookie of the Year award and this new record could help play in her overall favor.

Both Reese and Clark have been massive successes at the WNBA level and it has only continued their rivalry that stems from their collegiate days.
