Application to bring time to TV broadcasting in Chambers Court

An application has been made to the Appellate Division Chambers Court seeking suspension of the order of suspension of broadcasting of Saham TV for seven days. Ahmed Zobair, Managing Director of Time TV, made this request.

His lawyer Barrister Saqib Mahbub confirmed the matter to the media on Wednesday (August 21). He said, today the hearing will be held on this application in the court of the chamber judge.

Earlier, on August 19 (Monday), the High Court ordered the closure of private television channels for seven days.

This order was given after the preliminary hearing of a writ filed by Samham Media Limited and its director Shampa Rahman. The writ petition was filed that morning.

Advocate Ahsanul Karim and Advocate Farzana Khan Nila heard the writ in the court. Deputy Attorney General Faiz Ahmed appeared for the state. Senior lawyer AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon appeared for the managing director of Zaham TV, Ahmed Jobair.

According to the news published in the media, the meeting of the Board of Directors of Time Media Limited was held at the City House of Gulshan on August 10. Time TV's new managing director was appointed there.

According to a notification sent to the media, according to the decision of the board of directors, Ahmed Zobair has been relieved from the position of managing director and chief executive of Zaam Television. Besides, director Shampa Rahman has been given the responsibility as managing director. All the activities of Samham Media Limited will be conducted under the guidance of the new managing director.

Challenging the validity of this exemption, Ahmed Jobair filed a writ petition in the company bench of the High Court on August 14. The hearing is scheduled to be held on August 22.
