The police has applied for a 10-day remand of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina's private industry and investment adviser Salman F Rahman, former law minister Anisul Haque and army officer Ziaul Ahsan in the murder case of Khalid Hasan Saifullah, a first-year student of Ideal College.

On Saturday (August 24), the investigating officer of the case applied for remand to Sub-Inspector Akkas Mia of Lalbagh Police Station. The remand hearing will be held in their presence in Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court.

The accused were on remand in the murder case of shopkeeper Shahjahan Ali in Newmarket area. Today, they applied for a 10-day remand after showing their arrest in Lalbagh Police Station on the charge of shooting and killing Khaled Saifullah, a first year student of Ideal College. The remand hearing will be held in their presence.

On August 13, the police arrested Salman F Rahman and former law minister Anisul Haque from the capital's Sadarghat area while fleeing by water. The next day, the court granted them a 10-day remand in the murder case of Newmarket police station. And Ziaul Ahsan was arrested late at night on August 15 from Khilkhet area of ​​Dhaka. The next day, the court granted his 8-day remand.

According to the complaint of the case, Khalid Hasan Saifullah, a first year student of Ideal College, was shot dead on July 18 in Lalbagh's Azimpur government residential area during the anti-discrimination student movement. In this incident, his father Kamrul Hasan filed a murder case at Lalbagh police station on August 19.
