Amir Shafiqur Rahman of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh said that the interim government has taken responsibility at the request of the students. Give them a chance to work. The interim government should be given a chance to sort things out.
Amir of Jamaat said this to reporters while visiting Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of anti-discrimination student movement, who is undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Monday (August 26).
He said that there has been a change in the country on August 5. Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the student movement, played an important role in the front line of the student movement. On Sunday, some unruly Ansar members stormed into the administration's central secretariat in the name of agitation. The students who gave their lives, shed blood and forced the fascist government to flee in the face of bullets, came to listen, to calm them down. But they go beyond everything and hurt the students. Forced, the students resisted. During this time many people including Hasnat Abdullah were injured.
Amir of Jamaat said, βThey have just accepted the responsibility. Where have you been for so long? Why did not claim so long? Since you have been patient for 15 and a half years, please be patient for some more time. Give them a chance to sort it out. How will it work if you keep them busy like this?
Amir of Jamaat warned that people will not accept such activities. People will not forgive such misadventure again.
Jamaat-e-Islami central working council members Helal Uddin and Shafiqul Islam Masud, Dhaka Metropolitan South Assistant Secretary Delwar Hossain, Kamal Hossain and others were also present.
