Assembly of 8 parties including Jamaat in Paltan today

According to the pre-announced program, eight parties involved in the simultaneous movement will hold a large-scale mass meeting in Paltan of the capital today. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad expects the presence of millions of people.

He made this announcement at a press conference after a meeting of eight party leaders at the Islami Andolan Bangladesh office in Paltan on Monday (November 10).

Hamidur Rahman Azad said, “Not thousands, but millions of people will gather. People from the capital and surrounding areas will join it. We could have held a nationwide rally, but this time only a Dhaka-centric rally has been organized.”

He further said, “The fourth phase of our movement is over and the fifth phase is going on. On November 6, we gave the memorandum and announced the mass rally on November 11. This movement stands for the fundamental demands of the people, it is not a political alliance but a united platform.”

Regarding the coordination with BNP, he said, “BNP has said that they will not respond to Jamaat's call. We are also saying that if they call, we will definitely respond. We will keep both ways open, discussion and agitation.”
