At least 35 people were injured in the clash between students and Ansar members in front of the secretariat. This incident happened around 10:30 tonight.

Earlier today Sunday (August 25) afternoon, Ansars were seen protesting by blocking the relief vehicle. At that time, the students raised the demand that a conspiracy was going on. And then the information about the withdrawal of the program was received, but it was seen that the members of Ansar detained the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement in the secretariat and protested. Then the Ansar members stationed there became violent in the name of the movement from around 9 pm. After that, when the students tried to move towards the news of arresting the coordinators, they beat them severely.

According to the students, Awami League and Chhatra League together with Ansar have beaten them and injured at least 35 people. Despite hearing the gunshots, the news of the casualties has not yet reached them. Many of the injured are receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical.

It is known this afternoon that the members of Ansar forces have announced to suspend the movement program and join the workplace to demand the nationalization of jobs. Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Adviser on Home Affairs at the Secretariat. Ansar movement coordinator Nasir Mia announced the suspension of the movement after meeting with Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. Although there was information about the cancellation of the program, it was seen that Ansar members held the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement in the secretariat and protested.

At one stage, the coordinators were blocked in the secretariat. Ansar members attacked them at different places when ordinary students advanced towards the secretariat on this news. However, within a few minutes, the students took over the secretariat. At least 35 students were injured during this time. They claim that the attack was not only carried out by the members of Ansar, but many members of the Chhatra League and Awami League were with them.
