Referring to India's desire to work with Bangladesh, Shafiqul Alam said, 'Indian High Commissioner spoke about maximum cooperation to Bangladesh in the meeting. He said that the flood in Tripura is undesirable, both countries are suffering from it. He also commented that the dam was opened automatically.

'The Chief Advisor has good relations with India. The chief adviser called for a compromise between the two countries on water distribution by using good relations. He told the Indian High Commissioner about setting up a high-powered committee of the two countries on water and river issues', added the press secretary.

In the meeting, the Chief Adviser invited Indian journalists to visit Bangladesh on minority issues. The press secretary said that the Chief Adviser is monitoring the country's flood situation all the time and said, '3.6 lakh people are affected by floods in 10 districts. Two died. There is no news of the missing.'

Shafiqul Alam said that the flood water has spread rapidly due to the filling of the rivers and said that the advisors will visit the flood affected areas.
