Awami League interim committee letter is rumour

A letter has spread on Facebook that the party's interim committee has been formed on the instructions of Awami League president Sheikh Hasina. On Friday (September 6) night, Awami League's verified Facebook page informed that this letter is fake and the party has said that the committee formation is a rumour.

It is written in the viral letter, Sheikh Hasina, the mother of humanity, Bangabandhu, resigned from the post of Prime Minister and left the country on August 5, respecting the demands of the students. After he left, the Jamaat-BNP henchmen throughout the country have subjected Awami League leaders and activists to unspeakable torture. Vandalism, arson, looting, houses of ministers, MPs, leaders and activists at all levels, business establishments. The grassroots leaders and activists have lost their morale. In the prevailing situation, it is not possible for either the leader of the people Sheikh Hasina or her privileged son Sajib Wazed Joy to come to the country and take the lead of the party. In this situation, a convening committee of Awami League was formed on the instructions of the leader Sheikh Hasina to reorganize the party and make it orderly. This interim committee of Bangladesh Awami League will remain effective until the next election.

In the letter, the interim committee was convened by the former president. Abdul Hamid and Selina Hayat Ivy were made member secretaries.

However, Awami League's verified Facebook page called the letter a rumour, saying that to divide us, to weaken us, various such rumors are being spread on social media and even in the media. Awami League leaders and activists will not fall into anyone's trap. Don't spread any confusion. Say no to rumours. We will be more united than ever. Awami League has always remained united in the crisis of the country. Don't listen to rumours.
