Awami League wearing the spirit of liberation war is the killer of democracy: Ishrak

Engineer Ishrak Hossain, a member of BNP's international affairs committee, said that the Awami League, which claims the power of its side in the liberation war, killed hundreds of freedom fighters after independence. No leader of Awami League participated in the front battle. The democracy for which the liberation war was fought, the Awami League, wearing the spirit of the liberation war, is the killer of democracy.

He said these things at the iftar and doa mahfil organized by BNP at Shamsabad Dhaka Party Center Ward No. 32 in Nayabazar on Thursday.

Ishraq Hossain said, today if he speaks the truth, if he talks about the corruption and looting of the government, he is called Razakar, even they do not hesitate to debate about the frontline fighter and sector commander of the Liberation War, Shaheed Ziaur Rahman. Real freedom fighters are not being evaluated for the crime of not forming Awami League, while many of them who were not born in 1971 have been given the certificate of freedom struggle today.

He said, the government has tried the Razakars. Which Rajakar? Those who took a stand against the injustice of the government were prosecuted. But where are the policy ideals when many identified Razakars and their families are made relatives? When the Awami League does not have to stand in court, then where is the law?
