Aziz-Benazirs will not get exemption by corruption: Obaidul Quader

General secretary of the party Obaidul Quader said that the ruling Awami League does not exempt anyone in case of corruption. The allegations of corruption against former army chief General (retd) Aziz Ahmed and former police chief Benazir Ahmed will not be exempted either. Obaidul Quader also claimed that they are not members of Awami League.

He said these things at a joint meeting of the party at the Awami League's central office on Bangabandhu Avenue on Sunday (June 9) morning. On this day, a joint meeting of president-general secretaries of Dhaka metropolitan north-south, district Awami League and all affiliated organizations was held with the central leaders.

Obaidul Quader said, 'No one will get any exemption by corruption. No one from Aziz-Benji's Awami League. They have committed corruption. Their impunity is not introducing a culture of impunity.'

Criticizing the threat of BNP's movement, he said, 'BNP itself has run away by threatening to run away from Awami League. On October 28, BNP wanted to do politics by standing on dead bodies. That's why they should be punished.'

General Secretary of Awami League said, 'BNP laughs when it talks about movement. BNP threatened Awami League and fled from Paltan itself. BNP will not be able to move. Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, a member of the BNP's standing committee, went to the DB office after eating rice with coral fish.

Quader said, 'The offices were busy during the opposition party's agitation before the January 7 election. BNP did the movement. Their movement means terrorism. On the other hand, Awami League discussed with the party leaders and held a peace and development rally. We are not afraid of movement. I am afraid of fire and terror.'

Obaidul Quader said that the program taken on the 75th founding anniversary of Awami League will be observed from the ward level of the country. On the morning of June 23, flowers will be paid to the portrait of Bangabandhu. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate. The rally will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan on this day.
