Baitul Mukarram Khatib Ruhul Amin in hiding, Waliur Rahman in new charge


Maulana Mufti Ruhul Amin, Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, went into hiding after the fall of the Hasina government in the student uprising. As a result Hafez Maulana Dr. Mufti Waliyur Rahman Khan Azhari has been appointed as the new khatib by the Ministry of Religion to conduct prayers there.

By the way, Hafez Maulana Dr. Mufti Waliyur Rahman Khan is working for 18 years as Muhaddis (5th grade) of Islamic Foundation Bangladesh. He obtained his PhD degree from Islami University (Kushtia). Dr. Mufti Waliyur Rahman Khan is the former Secretary General and Life Vice President of Bangladesh Qoumi Madrasa Education Board Befak, the Principal of Faridabad Jamia and Darul Uloom Mirpur-6 Madrasas and the former Vice Principal of Jamia Imdadia, the second son of former Member of Parliament Hazrat Maulana Ataur Rahman Khan.

He studied at Jamia Imdadia in Kishoreganj from Hifzul Qur'an to the highest level of Qaumi Madrasah Dawarae Hadith. Apart from this, Kamil passed with honors from Dhaka Nesaria Kamil Madrasa. A Master's (MA) degree from a university. He received the Ifta (Mufti) certificate from Jamia Hussainia Arzabad Madrasa, one of the top Qaumi madrasas in the country, in the capital city of Dhaka.

Mufti Dr. Waliur Rahman Khan joined Islamic Foundation Bangladesh as Muhaddis (1st Class Grade 5) in 2005 after completing his education. Moreover, he also served as an alternate khatib at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Besides, since 2006, he has led the Eid congregation of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque every year.

As he holds an important position in the Islamic Foundation, he has to play an important role in the state or government work of various national religious issues. He regularly discusses on talk shows on various TV channels of the country. In addition, the 43rd king of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Aziz, in the International Haifzul Qur'an and Tafsir competition. Mufti Waliur Rahman Khan served as judge. Apart from this, he has won the trust of all concerned as a judge in various sessions of OIC Youth Korat Competition and National Children's Qur'an Competition. Earlier, he represented Bangladesh in Hefjul Qur'an and various conferences held in Egypt, Jordan, Algeria and Saudi Arabia.
