Bam Adebayo made history on Tuesday, March 10, scoring 83 points during the Miami Heat’s victory over the Washington Wizards.
Now, Adedayo has scored the second-highest points in a game in NBA history, with the record still going to Wilt Chamberlain for his legendary 100-point game in 1962.
The final score for Tuesday’s game was 150-129, with a definitive Heat win.
Adebayo, according to NBA research, went 20 of 43 from the field, 7 of 22 from 3-point range and 36 of 43 from the free throw line. He had nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks, playing for nearly 42 minutes.
In addition, Adebayo’s free throw makes and attempts both notched NBA records for a game. He beat the previous record for attempts, which was 39 by Dwight Howard, and the previous record for free throws made, which was 28 and set by Wilt Chamberlain and Adrian Dantley.
