Bangladesh Bank has lifted the cash withdrawal limit from today

Bangladesh Bank has lifted the cash withdrawal limit from Sunday (September 9). This information was informed in a notification on Saturday (September 7).

According to the notification, there will be no obligation to withdraw money from the bank account from this day. Anyone can withdraw any amount from their account.

Earlier last week there was a maximum withdrawal opportunity of five lakhs. In the previous weeks, the Central Bank had given the opportunity to withdraw a maximum of four lakhs, three lakhs and two lakhs respectively. That is, the cash withdrawal limit is slightly increased every week.

Through this, 16 consecutive years of Awami League's unprecedented misrule and arbitrariness came to an end. Then on August 8, the journey of the interim government began. Security concerns arise in the transportation of cash.

Besides, it was also feared that many may destabilize the banking sector by withdrawing more cash from the bank. For that, withdrawal limit from bank is imposed. Although the limit is increased every week.

A maximum of one lakh could be withdrawn from the bank in the first week of the swearing in of the interim government. The next week it was increased to two lakhs. In the next three weeks it was further increased to three, four and five lakhs respectively. That is, the withdrawal limit is increased to one lakh for five weeks. However, customers can transfer any amount and do digital transactions even though there is a cash withdrawal limit.
