Mymensingh: Bengali New Year is being celebrated in Mymensingh with various events. On this occasion, like every year, a colorful Mars procession takes place from the city's Mukul Niketan High School at around 8 am on Sunday. Mymensingh Sadar Constituency Member of Parliament Mohit Ur Rahman Shanto inaugurated the procession organized by the District Administration and the Combined Cultural Alliance.
Mymensingh Range DIG Shah Abid Hossain, Deputy Commissioner Didare Mohammad Maqsud Alam Chowdhury, District Police Superintendent Machum Ahmed Bhuya and leaders of various social and cultural organizations participated in the procession.
Munshiganj: The procession started in front of the Munshiganj District Commissioner's office around 8:30 am today. After circling various important roads of the city, the procession ended at the central Shahid Minar premises adjacent to the District Arts Academy. Later, the village fair was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner Md. Abu Jafar Ripon.
In this procession, a symbolic presentation of the history and tradition of modern Bengal and recent events took place. Besides, different kinds of masks including tigers and lions have been seen. After the procession, a cultural program was organized in the premises of Munshiganj Central Shaheed Minar.
Tangail: Bengali New Year is being celebrated in Tangail with various programs including Mars procession. Sunday morning on the initiative of the district administration, the Martyr's Memorial Municipal Park took out the Mangal Sobhayatra. The procession circled the important roads of the city and ended at the District Shilpakala Academy. Later patriotic songs, dances and discussions were held there.
Local MP Chanwar Hossain, Deputy Commissioner Kaycharul Islam, Superintendent of Police Sarkar Mohammad Qaiser, Tangail Municipality Mayor SM Sirajul Haque, Tangail Club General Secretary Haroon Or Rashid and others were present.
