Big changes in VAT and customs this time – Bangladesh Diplomat

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has been reshuffled with the determination to build a new Bangladesh through the uprising of anti-discrimination students. The company has transferred 19 commissioners of the customs and VAT department, including the first secretary of customs and VAT administration Eidtazul Islam.
In an order issued on Tuesday (September 3) evening, the offices of 19 commissioners of the organization have been transferred. This is the major reshuffle after Abdur Rahman Khan became the chairman of NBR. In a recent press conference, he said, corruption will not be tolerated in NBR.
In an order, 19 commissioners were transferred to various posts in Dhaka, Chittagong, Benapole, Khulna, Rangpur, Jessore and Customs, Excise and VAT Appellate Tribunals.
In another order, Eidtazul Islam, the first secretary of Customs and VAT Administration discussed by the National Board of Revenue, has been transferred to the post of Executive Director of Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDARA). Abu Hena, former chairman of NBR. The NBR officials protested demanding the resignation of Rahmatul Munim close to Eidtazul.
Board officials said that those accused of corruption and inefficiency have been transferred to less important posts. They also said that these changes have been made to increase the speed and revenue collection in the field administration and to create a business friendly environment.
Incidentally, Dhaka Customs House Commissioner has been transferred to VAT Training Academy. Around 61 kg of gold was stolen from the secured warehouse at the airport during that time.
