Bird flu virus in animal milk

Bird flu virus has also been found in the raw milk of Preni, according to the World Health Organization. Such information was reported in a press conference yesterday (April 19) local time.

The UN health agency says the virus has been found in raw milk from infected animals. However, it is not known how long the virus remains active in milk.

It is known that bird flu was also detected in cows and goats in America last month. Bird flu was found in 13 cow herds in six states of the country. Initially, cattle were reported infected from farms in Texas and New Mexico. Some dead birds are also found in those farms.

A person who contracted bird flu in Texas earlier this month recovered. This person contracted bird flu from a dairy farm.

Wenqing Zhang, head of the World Health Organization's Global Influenza Program, said, 'For the first time, a human was infected with bird flu from a cow in Texas. We have learned about transmission of the virus from bird to cow, cow to cow and cow to bird. This suggests that the virus is being transmitted differently than we previously understood.'

The WHO official said the virus was found in the milk of animals infected with bird flu. Ensuring safe food including pasteurized milk and dairy products is very important in such situations.

Note that the bird flu virus first appeared in 1996. Till 2020 billions of chickens have died due to this virus.
