Blinken is going to Israel international

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken is on his way to Israel for a cease-fire deal in Gaza. He is traveling to Israel as part of Washington's intense diplomatic push for a deal, The Guardian reported on Sunday.

Israel launched an attack on Gaza on October 7. More than 40,000 Palestinians have been killed so far in Israel's attacks. Some countries in the Middle East are working on an agreement with Israel to stop the attacks. However, Israel has repeatedly rejected the agreement with various excuses.

Blinken will be visiting the region for the ninth time since the start of the war. US officials have cited renewed optimism for concluding the deal. But cautioned, there is still work to be done.

A senior Biden administration official told reporters on Friday, 'What we've done is fill in the gaps that remain and fill them in to what we think is basically a deal now done and ready to go.'
