“If I just keep my mouth shut, it’s not as noticeable. We are day 35, officially five weeks since the left side of my face went paralyzed,” she told followers. The Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp alum then made facial movements highlighting the paralysis.
“I still have no muscle movement on the left side. I don’t really feel much I’ve done everything imaginable to resolve this. I’m not sure what else I should do,” she confessed. “But I’ve spent the last 35 days doing something every single day to try and fix this, and nothing has helped so far. So, I’m not sure what the future holds but this is the update day 35, still no muscle movement.”
In a second Story, Bristol revealed she has been getting acupuncture on her face four times a week. She shared a snap from her treatment with multiple needles sticking out of her face.

Bristol first shared she was struggling with facial paralysis in January via Instagram. Many fans theorized it was a result of cosmetic treatments like Botox and filler or even the COVID-19 vaccine. However, the Dancing with the Stars alum cleared up the rumors and explained the paralysis was a result of Bell’s Palsy.
According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Bell’s Palsy “is a neurological disorder that causes paralysis or weakness on one side of the face.”
The mom of three admitted that stress affects the disease in a video posted to her Instagram Story last month.
“Bell’s Palsy can be set off by stress. I’m stressed, I probably don’t sleep that great,” she stated. “So it’s definitely eye-opening for that aspect.”
She explained she was trying many treatments even then, including acupuncture and lymphatic massage.
